Shipping policy

Tracking Your Shipment:

To efficiently track your order after it has been shipped, we suggest you provide us with an up-to-date email during checkout or when creating your online account. Once a shipping label has been created for your package, you will be notified through email by our secondary service, Pitney Bowes SendPro. After receiving the tracking number, you will be able to follow your package's progress as it heads towards your provided shipping address.

Shipping/Processing Times:

We process orders in the order in which they are received. After placing an order via online or phone, it will usually be sent out within 48 hours. We do not ship orders on weekends or holidays.

Shipments originate from our Danville, Kentucky location and the transit time to the delivery address is based on the shipping method and distance from our location. Because we are not open for business on weekends, orders placed after 4pm EST on Friday will not be processed or shipped until the following Monday, including orders requiring expedited shipping (ex: Next Day Air, 2-Day Air, 3-Day Select).

Holiday Shipping/Processing Times (November 1 – December 31):

Throughout the busy holiday season, orders may take an additional 1-2 days to process and ship. Keep in mind, orders shipped via Priority Mail through the United States Postal Service will take up to three days to arrive to your provided shipping address.

Shipping Methods:

United States Postal Service

Retail orders being sent to a residential or business address in the US are commonly shipped via the United States Postal Service. Based on the weight, size, and contents of your order, shipments may be sent via Priority Mail (1-3 days), First-Class Mail (1-5 days), or Media Mail (1-7 days). International orders are also most commonly sent through Priority Mail. Contact us for further information on pricing estimates and shipping times.

If you have provided an email address with your order, a tracking number will be sent to you through our Pitney Bowes SendPro shipping service once your package is shipped. Should you require any additional information about your order, please feel free to contact us.  

UPS

Wholesale orders shipped within the contiguous US are most commonly shipped via UPS Ground. If your place of business has a UPS account, we can also ship your order using your provided account number. UPS does not ship to P.O. boxes.

For some wholesale orders, it may be more cost-effective and faster to ship your order via Priority Mail and we will likely use that method first. However, if you prefer one shipping method over the other, please feel free to contact us. A UPS tracking number may also be emailed to you upon your order’s shipment if requested.

Orders shipped via UPS Ground typically take 1-7 days for delivery depending upon your location.

Expedited Shipping

In the event you require expedited shipping for your order (ex: Next Day Air, 2-Day Air, 3-Day Select, Priority Mail Express), please contact us to receive a cost and time estimate for shipping.

Shipping Costs:

Retail orders over $59 receive Free Shipping.

Shipping and handling costs for retail orders are based on the total weight and size of the order and is calculated at checkout.

Shipping and handling costs for wholesale orders will be calculated once the total weight and size of the order have been determined. Shipping costs will be added to the final total of your order and charged using your preferred payment method. For orders placed via PayPal, we will send a separate invoice for shipping charges once they have been calculated.

If you require special shipping instructions, such as a preferred delivery date or service, please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Shipping Liability:

Elmwood Inn Fine Teas is not responsible for any packages that cannot be delivered due to a wrong address, missing information, or not having a person present to receive a package. Please include any applicable suite number, apartment number, floor, or building number in the additional address lines when placing your order. If you have any common delivery notes (ex: Leave at the back door) provide it in the shipping information or customer notes and we will add that information to the shipping label.

Elmwood Inn Fine Teas is not responsible for any package that is stolen or damaged after they are delivered to the specified address. UPS has permission to leave packages at the recipient address in the event no one is there to sign for or claim the package, but drivers may leave a notice for a second or third delivery attempt at their discretion. It is advisable to have a person home to accept the package or have it shipped to an office or workplace if possible.

Customers who have an order undeliverable or returned to our location will be issued store credit for the order, minus any shipping costs. We can ship the same items in the order for you again, but you will need to pay any new shipping costs. It is possible you may need to provide an alternate shipping address to ensure your package is delivered to you.
