Take Tea and REALLY See!

This small but powerful volume is a delight. The photographs are both beautiful and inspirational and the sayings thought- provoking. Pull up a cozy chair, sip a rich, aromatic cup of tea and ponder the beautiful and diverse planet on which we live. This was a gift from a dear friend. This was one book I couldn't lend, so I am going pay it forward and buy copies for my friends.

Looking deeply into yourself

The Richardson's book, with photos by Shelley's husband, Bruce, is a deeply moving experience. The photos are so beautiful, revealing the faces and lives of those who pick our tea. And Shelley's poems accompany them perfectly, a deep meditative subject for reflection. I found this book by relating a story about Thich Nhat Hanh to the salesperson at my neighborhood tea shop. Thich had said that when we pray at the time of a meal, we should give a prayer of thanks to all those who have made it possible to have this food before us. I did this exercise with my grandsons recently, and counted at least 49 people from the beginning to the bowl of cereal and glass of juice they were eating! Deep! The salesperson walked me over to the book section and shared this book with me, which is the fulfillment of Thich's advice for the morning cup of tea, one page a day! Over and over again. I gave this book as a gift to three of my tea devotees for the holidays, and they have expressed such deep gratitude - affected as I was. Have you noticed that I have used the word "deep" several times?! Yes, this book is steeped in deep! Enjoy!
